About the role

Responsible to assist with the operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair buildings and installed systems including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC
  • Clean, lubricate, and service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices
  • Install and modify building equipment and systems
  • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and paint walls, piping, floors, and equipment
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations or cost-saving opportunities
  • Use and maintain tools and equipment for facility and ground maintenance
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform preventative maintenance
  • Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems including fire alarm systems, fire pumps, and related fire protection equipment
  • Perform carpentry and snow removal when necessary
  • Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency directives, and safe work practices
  • Use technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems
  • Complete all required C&W Safety Training annually and maintain a neat and clean appearance

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting
  • Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in at least one of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair
  • Valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required) with a good driving record and periodic checks
  • Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word

Work environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical demands

Regularly required to communicate with others and exchange accurate information; operate a computer and other office productivity machinery; move about the workplace; remain in a stationary position for 10% of the time; and extend hands and arms in any direction.

Compensation

$43.81 – $51.54 per hour
