The Role
The OpenShift Engineer is accountable for engineering, support, automation, and thought leadership related to Platform-as-a-Service offerings. This role will administer multiple OpenShift clusters and assist project teams with application migrations to Platform-as-a-Service offerings and related activities.
Responsibilities
- Administer multiple OpenShift clusters.
- SUPPORT Platform-as-a-Service offerings.
- Provide engineering, support, automation, and thought leadership related to Platform-as-a-Service offerings.
- SUPPORT OpenShift Administration.
- SUPPORT OpenShift Data Foundation.
- SUPPORT OpenShift Platform Plus.
- SUPPORT Advanced Cluster Management.
- SUPPORT Advanced Cluster Security.
- SUPPORT Ceph Administration.
- ASSIST project teams with application migrations to Platform-as-a-Service offerings.
- SUPPORT related application migration activities.
- APPLY extensive knowledge of Linux containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications and microservices architectures.
- SUPPORT migration and refactoring of applications to containerized workloads.
- WORK with automated deployment tools.
- APPLY conceptual and practical understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and practices.
- WORK with CI/CD tools such as GitLab.
- APPLY working knowledge of Java, JBoss, nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures.
- APPLY working knowledge of networking topics such as protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and related areas.
- COMMUNICATE complex technical issues.
- PURCHASE comprehensive written, oral, and digital products.
- DOCUMENT and SHARE knowledge.
- TRAIN other members of the team.
Requirements
- Specific knowledge and experience with migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads.
- EXPERIENCE with automated deployment tools.
- CONCEPTUAL AND APPLIED UNDERSTANDING of DevOps concepts, tools, and practices.
- HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE with CI/CD tools such as GitLab.
- WORKING KNOWLEDGE of networking topics such as protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and related areas.
Qualifications
- ANALYTICAL SKILLS and the ability to APPLY these skills in a multi-tasking environment where multiple projects require participation at a given time.
- ABILITY to COMMUNICATE complex technical issues.
- ABILITY to PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE written, oral, and digital products.
- WILLINGNESS to DOCUMENT, SHARE knowledge, and TRAIN other members of the team.
- WORKING KNOWLEDGE of SSL certificates.
- EXPERIENCE with AGILE teams, tools, practices, and ceremonies, including kanban, stand-ups, and sprints.
- KEEPS ACHIEVES OF RELEVANT INDUSTRY-LEADING STANDARDS and EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES.
- CONTAINER AND POD-LEVEL MONITORING and LOGGING experience with Dynatrace and QRadar.
