Open Source Developer | Remote

About the role

Remote contract position for an Open Source Contributor, working 10–40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Contribute production-quality code, reviews, and documentation to open-source repositories.
• Design, implement, and optimize complex algorithms and system components.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with other contributors and stakeholders to align deliverables with project goals.
• Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation for knowledge sharing.
• Participate in code discussions and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements

• Strong relevant experience in contributing to open-source projects.
• Clear open source contributions and profiles (e.g., GitHub or GitLab).
• Experience with C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Previous experience working on large-scale, distributed codebases is preferred.
• Familiarity with modern AI or machine learning systems is a plus.

Pay

$50 – $100/hour
