Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach 9 credit hours each semester of English courses related to one’s area of expertise
- Lead all activities of the Department of Language and Literature
- Manage the curriculum and assessment for the majors, minors, and general education course offerings
- Hire, supervise, evaluate, mentor, and support adjunct and full-time faculty
- Establish a program of research leading to peer-reviewed publications and presentations
- Provide service to the program, college, and university
Qualifications
- Doctorate in English, Composition and Rhetoric, or closely related field
- Excellence in collegiate teaching grounded in evidence-based best practices for teaching and learning, particularly in writing
- Experience with curriculum design and assessment
- Experience with or potential for excellence in leadership
- Evidence of potential for peer-reviewed scholarship

Salary and rank will be determined by credentials and experience.
Schedule
The position has a start date in the Fall of 2026 and entails a ten-month contract which includes nine months during the academic year and one month over the summer.
