About the Role
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in the College of Health Science and Public Health Administration at Eastern Washington University (EWU) invites applications for a full-time (9-month) tenure-track faculty appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank. We seek a team-oriented individual who will collaborate to deliver an excellent educational experience in a student-centered environment. Qualified candidates with all areas of expertise are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with interest and experience teaching the integumentary system, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, lifespan development, professional responsibilities, and/or introductory examination and intervention skills.
The DPT Program is located at EWU Spokane, a health sciences campus with modern facilities next to downtown Spokane. Our residential DPT Program is 33 months in length, has 9 full-time faculty members, and admits 38 students each fall. Opportunities for summer teaching may be available. The program has been CAPTE-accredited for decades.

Responsibilities
- Teach doctoral-level courses consistent with expertise and department needs.
- Advise students in the DPT program.
- Engage in scholarship, including peer-reviewed publications, national presentations, and external grant funding.
- Contribute to academic program administration and leadership.
- Participate in the CAPTE reaccreditation process, including contributing to the self-study report (SSR).
- Serve the PT profession at the national or state level.
Requirements
- State of Washington PT license eligible.
- Earned academic doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution (PhD, DSc, DHSc, or equivalent).
- Successful teaching experience in higher education.
- 6 years' experience as a core faculty member in a CAPTE-accredited DPT program (10 years for Full Professor rank).
- 5 years of clinical practice experience as a physical therapist.
- Current membership in the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Established record of scholarship (peer-reviewed publications, national presentations, external grant funding) that identifies a line of research and grantsmanship.
- Demonstrated experience in academic program administration and leadership.
- Demonstrated engagement in the CAPTE reaccreditation process.
- Demonstrated professional involvement at the national or state level.
- Active service to the PT profession.
- Ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach supportive of universal access for students, faculty, staff, and the public.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in classroom technology.
- Experience with virtual anatomy lab instruction.
- Evidence of interdisciplinary research, curricula, and student mentorship in health sciences.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Collegial and professional engagement with staff and faculty across the university.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring junior faculty.
Pay
Expected salary upon hire: $100,614 (Associate Professor) and $126,543 (Full Professor).
