Open Rank (Assistant Professor, Associate professor or Professor) Obstetric Anesthesiologist
About the role
The University of Colorado Anschutz Department of Anesthesiology has an opening for a full-time Obstetric Anesthesiologist at the faculty rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor to join our Obstetric Anesthesia Section.
Key Responsibilities
- Administers care alone or supervises physicians-in-training (residents), certified registered nurse anesthetists and certified anesthesiologist assistants.
- Examines the patient before and after anesthesia, writes pre and post anesthesia orders, confirms readiness for anesthesia, manages the anesthetic period, and follows the patient as needed in the post anesthesia period.
- Provides comprehensive anesthesia care for high-risk obstetric patients, including labor analgesia, managing perioperative care during obstetric procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.
- Provides solo obstetric and fetal anesthesia care at the Colorado Fetal Care Center, located at the Children’s Hospital Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
- Contributes to clinical education and potentially leadership roles in various academic and clinical settings.
- Works in any of the University of Colorado School of Medicine affiliated hospitals, including University of Colorado Hospital affiliates.
Qualifications
- Assistant Professor: Fellowship-trained in Obstetric Anesthesiology.
- Associate Professor: Fellowship-trained in Obstetric Anesthesiology.
- Professor: Fellowship-trained in Obstetric Anesthesiology.
- Open Rank: Demonstrated contributions and experience in teaching, clinical, research, and/or service to the field.

Anticipated Pay Range
The base salary range/rate (or hiring range/rate) has been established based on faculty rank and is intended to compensate for scheduled daily clinical work, Monday through Friday. The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Assistant Professor: $355,400 Associate Professor: $364,800 Professor: $373,200 The base salary range/rate (or hiring range/rate) has been established based on faculty rank and is intended to compensate for scheduled daily clinical work, Monday through Friday. The above salaries are base-salary only and do not include variable compensation, such as call and incentive pay.
