Open Rank - Assistant/Associate Professor of Political Science, International Relations

The Department of Political Science at the University of New Mexico invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor faculty position in International Relations to begin in August 2027. The appointment for this full-time position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor or at the rank of Associate Professor, depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Applicants must have a PhD in Political Science or a related field by date of appointment. For best consideration, all application materials must be received by October 16, 2026. The position will remain open until filled. Applications must demonstrate evidence of or potential for excellence in conducting substantively and theoretically significant research in international relations. The new faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in international relations, supervise masters and doctoral students (including service on graduate mentorship committees), and contribute to core, required undergraduate and graduate courses.
