About the role

The Onsite Surgical Equipment Repair Specialist works primarily at customer sites, hospitals, and clinics, to provide cost-effective maintenance on company and customer owned medical equipment to assure it is functioning properly and meets the customer’s needs. They inspect and test general surgery instruments, disassemble malfunctioning equipment, keep records of maintenance, perform preventative maintenance, coordinate proposal maintenance program developments, facilitate equipment pick-up, delivery, quotation communication, repair status monitoring, and deliver completed repairs. They also work with leadership to coordinate periodic performance reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test general surgery instruments.
  • Disassemble malfunctioning equipment and remove, repair or replace defective parts.
  • Keep records of maintenance, parts and repair.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating or adjusting instruments.
  • Cook up proposal maintenance program developments using company methods and models.
  • Facilitate equipment pick-up, delivery, quotation communication, repair status monitoring and delivery of completed repairs.
  • Work with leadership to coordinate periodic performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience working with medical equipment in a hospital or clinic.
  • Great near-sighted vision and ability to distinguish colors.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as well as emergency off hours as needed.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to support business needs and goals.
  • The ability to sit on a work stool, stand, bend and have precise hand dexterity to grasp, manipulate or assemble very small objects, with or without accommodations.
  • The ability to safely drive a box truck or sprinter style vehicle.
  • The ability to use digital calipers, grinding wheels, soldering irons, sand blasters, Dremel style tools, torches and test equipment which requires good hand-eye coordination.

Qualifications

For this role, you must have valid near-sighted vision and the ability to distinguish colors. You must also have great hand-eye coordination and the ability to safely operate various tools and equipment. You should be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as emergency off hours as needed. You should also be able to work with precision and have the ability to safely operate various tools and equipment.

Skills

Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also required. Knowledge of medical equipment and the ability to work independently are important. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to interact with customers and colleagues.

Pay

This range represents the low and high ends of the Agiliti pay range for this position. This base pay range information is based on the market locations shown. For sales positions, this range combines the base salary and the target incentive pay. The actual pay offered may vary depending on several factors including geographic location, experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and related factors. Dependent on the position offered, short-term and/or long-term incentives may be provided as part of the compensation.
