Responsibilities
- Provide technical software, hardware, and network problem resolution to customer end-users by diagnosing issues and guiding users through step-by-step solutions in person at a client site or occasionally in a call center environment.
- Act as an onsite representative for Navanta to end-users for tasks requiring an in-person presence.
- Perform assigned onsite tasks, interact professionally with end-users, relay discovered issues to appropriate parties within Navanta to ensure ticket creation and issue resolution, and provide technical assistance as needed.
- Communicate all aspects of the onsite project, experience, and interactions with the senior technician, supervisor, manager, or project manager sponsoring the project.
- Assist less experienced technicians with technical problems they encounter.
- Clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner and assist junior technicians in doing the same.
- Follow defined procedures and policies to resolve recurring tasks.
- Involve senior technicians or management on more sensitive or complex end-user problems.
- Perform related work as required.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment (both internally and externally) and involves travel by automobile or airplane. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, and copy machines. This role also routinely operates a company motor vehicle. Use of a personal phone through multi-factor authentication is required.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently drives long distances and stays overnight in rented motels or hotels.
- Frequently required to sit for long periods; stand; walk; use hands to type, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Hours and days are variable and will frequently include evening, overnight, or weekend work. Frequent and extended travel is expected.
Requirements
- Advanced understanding of desktop operating systems, various software applications, and PC/Server/Network hardware.
- Intermediate understanding of principles and theories of network systems and management.
- Advanced understanding of Internet technologies and products.
- Advanced understanding of electrical safety procedures.
- At least two years of technical work experience or equivalent education.
- At least two relevant technical certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+) or equivalent experience.
- A demonstrated propensity toward and proficiency with customer end-user interaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s (or higher) degree in a computer science-related field.
- Four or more years of technical work experience.
- Four or more relevant technical certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+).
