About the role
This role requires an active Pharmacy Technician Certification in the State of Kansas, and is located onsite and requires availability for our 6:00am - 2:30pm CST shift. The Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician (PFT) is responsible for adhering to state and federal regulations in the performance of pharmacy-related data entry and patient registration activities. This position is responsible for the resolution of third-party rejects and responding to high-volume customer inquiries, working under direct supervision.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Processes new patient registration by entering data into the Pioneer system
- Handles patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing
- Troubleshoots to obtain missing prescription information, and interprets medical abbreviations (SIG codes)
- Solves all data entry-related exceptions
- Runs automated machinery, sort medications, and transition inventory through different workflow stages with a focus on quality control
- Cleans and helps maintain machinery and keep the work area orderly
- Resolves Third Party Rejects by reviewing, gathering information, making corrections and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements
- Provides assistance to Pharmacists by identifying and communicating issues to senior-level staff as appropriate
- Performs duties and responsibilities according to the philosophy and standards of SelectRx including conveying courtesy, respect, enthusiasm and positive attitudes in work situations with clients, peers and visitors
- Maintains client and associate confidentiality
Skills/Abilities
- Basic level PC skills including: Start and shut down computer, Use mouse to point and click, Start, close and switch between programs, Save files, Print documents, Access information online, Touch typing
- Intermediate level keyboarding typing skills, at least 35 words per minute
- High degree of interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking is required
Education And Experience
- Preferred to have a least 1-year experience in retail pharmacy, fulfillment or call center environment as a Pharmacy Technician
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- This position involves work in a production or warehouse environment and requires regular presence on the production floor.
- The Role Requires At least 8 hours of standing and walking throughout the workday
- Frequent movement between workstations and production areas
- Reoccurring bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders
- Use of hands and arms for handling, operating, or monitoring equipment
- Able to move, position, or transport materials or products weighing up to 15 pounds, with or without assistance
- Extended periods of continuous standing at a computer or workstation
- A high level of physical activity and stamina consistent with a production-floor environment.
