Duties
- Emergency Medical Response: Provide immediate medical care in response to accidents, injuries, or medical emergencies occurring on the construction site.
- Assess and stabilize injured or ill workers, administer appropriate medical interventions, and coordinate transportation to a medical facility if necessary.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all medical assessments, treatments, and interventions.
- Injury Prevention and Safety: Conduct regular safety walks to identify potential risks.
- Collaborate with the project team to implement preventive measures.
- Provide ongoing education and training to workers on topics such as first aid, CPR, workplace safety, and injury prevention.
- Health Assessment and Monitoring: Implement and oversee the workplace wellness program, including health screenings, assessments, education, and preventative care to all onsite partners.
- Monitor and manage employee health concerns, such as workplace injuries, illnesses, and exposure to hazardous materials.
- Manage client's onsite drugs of abuse program.
- Medical Equipment and Supplies Management: Ensure the availability and proper function of medical equipment, supplies, and medications necessary for emergency care and first aid.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, maintain stock levels, and oversee the storage and organization of medical supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness of the onsite clinic and office.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all medical incidents, treatments, and follow-up care provided to workers.
- Prepare incident reports, injury logs, and other documentation required for regulatory compliance and internal reporting purposes.
- Communicate effectively with management, project team, and external agencies.
Conditions of Employment
- Current State or National Certification or Registration as an EMT or Paramedic required.
- Active BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a pre-hospital or clinical environment preferred.
- OSHA 30 Construction certification - Must obtain within first 30 days of employment (Employer Provided).
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and clients at all levels required.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment required.
- Must be able to adapt to changes without compromise and become proficient quickly.
- Must be able to operate effectively in unpredictable situations.
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form.
- Comfortable in a construction environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; must be able to regularly lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable working at heights.
- This position is considered a critical function within the company; subject to call back and overtime if required.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and standards.
