Onsite Endoscopic Specialist

Pay Rate: $22.57 per hour

About the role

Reporting to the Region Manager of Onsite Service, the primary responsibility is to provide on‑site, hands‑on client support of KARL STORZ medical devices (including hand instruments and video equipment) for assigned hospital or surgery‑center clients. The role works closely with clients’ Sterile Processing Departments and Operating Room teams and can lead to internal career advancement opportunities in sales, marketing, leadership, and more.

Responsibilities

• Face‑to‑face client support in the Operating Room, Sterile Processing Department, and Biomed areas.
• Daily maintenance and management of clients’ KARL STORZ devices.
• Maintain instrument sets in excellent working order; keep repairs and replacement expenses within a predetermined budget.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all KARL STORZ devices.
• Troubleshoot video and instrument issues in the Operating Room; inspect instruments and document functionality.
• Train and educate OR and supporting department staff on KARL STORZ devices and services.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and design workflows to improve efficiency and reduce repair costs.
• Set up and support KARL STORZ video towers/systems.
• Inspect, repair, troubleshoot, and replace KARL STORZ devices as needed.
• Monitor, report, and facilitate repair/exchange transactions.
• Transport, clean/sterilize, and package KARL STORZ instruments after use.

Requirements

• Endoscopy or surgical medical device experience.
• Experience supporting Operating Rooms (OR) and Sterile Processing Departments (SPD).
• Hands‑on experience with endoscopic instruments and video equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining medical/surgical equipment.
• Experience with KARL STORZ equipment is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning, sterilization, and handling of surgical instruments.
• Strong customer‑facing and communication skills.
• Ability to train OR/SPD staff on equipment and processes.
• Ideal profiles: Endoscopy Technician, Surgical Equipment Specialist, Biomedical Equipment Technician, Medical Device Field Service Technician, or similar healthcare equipment roles.
