ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary safety contact for the assigned construction site
- Conduct continuous site safety inspections and hazard assessments
- Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and logs
- Investigate incidents and near-misses; recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with site leadership to resolve safety concerns
- Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Active CHST certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
- Experience managing safety on a single-site construction project
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Comfortable working within Windows-based platforms
- Able to learn and adapt to new software systems and digital tools

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequent mobility throughout an active construction site, including walking across uneven terrain, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and standing for extended periods
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, loud noise, and typical construction site hazards
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required
- Occasional lifting and transporting of materials or safety equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds may be necessary
- Ability to perceive and process visual information, such as reading documents and interpreting safety signage, with or without corrective devices
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily field based at a single active construction site
- While some administrative duties may be performed in a site office, the majority of responsibilities occur in dynamic, operational areas
- Environmental conditions vary depending on the phase of construction, weather, and site activity, with exposure to dust, debris, and moderate to high noise levels
- The position demands adaptability and situational awareness to navigate changing site conditions and maintain safety oversight
- Team collaboration is frequent, and success in this role depends on the ability to maintain focus and professionalism in a fast-paced, hands-on setting
