Online Sales Associate (In-Store Only)

About the Role

The E-Commerce Associate assists with the day-to-day tasks of Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi's e-commerce business, including identifying, marketing, and processing sales transactions of donated merchandise and used books for online sales, as well as providing excellent customer service via oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Pick, package, weigh, and prepare for shipment items sold online.
• Assist with the physical receipt, storage, and evaluation process to determine the value of books and media items.
• Enter book descriptions and prices into the software system, and handle packaging, shipping, and tracking of sold items.
• Post ShopGoodwill items independently when necessary.
• Work flexible hours as needed.
• Move merchandise from the back room to the processing/posting floor as required.
• Maintain a clean work area at the end of each shift.
• Assist in security by monitoring inventory and reporting suspicious activity or theft to e-commerce management.
• Keep the work area clean and hazard-free.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
• Ensure regular attendance.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Perform a variety of tasks in other areas of the e-commerce department to support business needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent, or six months to one year of related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High degree of attention to processes and detail.
• Basic to intermediate computer experience, including working knowledge of e-commerce businesses and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel).
• Previous experience writing online auctions and/or an understanding of collectibles (e.g., antiques, brand names, and other items of value) is preferred.
• Valid Mississippi driver’s license.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Skills

• Ability to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
• Clear communication, writing, and reading skills in English.
• Vision corrected to within normal limits.
