Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk

Select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently, paying attention to freshness and quality.

  • Assemble customers' online orders.
  • Process coupons and payment.
  • Deliver and load orders to customers' cars when they arrive at the store for pickup.

Essential Job Functions

  • Scan and bag orders on the go while adhering to bagging standards.
  • Communicate any substitutions or exceptions to customers' orders at the time of pick-up.
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
  • Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
  • Provide a positive customer service experience that encourages customers to return to online shopping.
  • Process orders through the point of sale (POS) system.
  • Determine appropriate substitutions in the event of an out-of-stock situation.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
  • Report pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies and invalid temperature types to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
  • Inspect equipment and notify store Pick-Up supervisor or other store management of items in need of repair.
  • Perform required opening and closing procedures.
  • Aid in training new e-Commerce team members.
  • Meet and exceed productivity standards.

  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desired Previous Experience

  • Experience as a personal shopper or in a production-oriented or warehouse environment, such as stocking shelves or cashiering.
