About the role
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Buyer to join our corporate team in either Hopkins, MN or Marshall, MN. This role involves driving results in service contract management across the organization, partnering with our EHS plant and corporate teams to own procurement of and recommendations for EHS supplies.
Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations with key suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, warranties, and contract protections specific to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) needs.
- Manage capital equipment purchases, maintenance and repair parts, and service agreements to support plant operations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, R&D, sales, marketing) to align purchasing strategies with business needs.
- Travel requirementsto plantsare typically3-4 daysmonthly.
- Monitor categories for pricing trends, supply risks, and opportunities, delivering insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Own the full contract lifecycle—including renewals, performance tracking, and compliance management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) issues with internal and external partners.
- Drive results in price, rate, and risk management while maximizing supplier value and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience in a Buyer or Strategic Sourcing role).
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- A blend of experience within both EHS and procurement is strongly preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with procurement systems a plus.
- CPIM or CSCP certification preferred, but not required, but willing to obtain with company support.
- Comfort in working a schedule that comprises of 4 days onsite, 1 day remote weekly.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $113,000 annually with eligibility for a 5% annual incentive bonus, which is based on organizational performance.
Schedule
Our schedule requires travel to plants typically 3-4 days monthly.
