The Prairie Pathways One Stop Operations Internship provides hands-on experience in the daily operations of Prairie Band One Stop convenience store. This internship is designed to give students exposure to retail operations, customer service, inventory management, and store leadership.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Accurately operate the cash register system including cash and credit transactions.
- Aid customers with purchases, questions, and store navigation.
- Maintain a welcoming and professional store environment.
- Assist with stocking merchandise and ensuring inventory levels remain adequate.
- Support product organization, display setup, and restocking of shelves.
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with product rotation when needed.
- Observe and assist with daily store operations and workflow.
- Learns procedures related to store opening, closing, and shift transitions.
- Aid management with operational tasks and store projects.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for employees and customers.
- Support efforts to protect company assets and maintain store security standards.
- Shadow store leadership to understand the responsibilities of retail management.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and assigned projects.
- Gain exposure to how Prairie Band subsidiaries operate within the larger organization.
Qualifications
- Must have an overall GPA of 2.50 or above and either be attending college, trade school, a recent graduate, or demonstrate a strong interest in learning about retail or business operations.
- Preferred areas of study include Business, Management, Finance, or related fields.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Must have reliable transportation.
