One Guard Inspector

About the role

The One Guard Inspector is responsible for inspecting automobiles for mechanical failures of all types and completing detailed reports of the findings.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned automobile inspections for mechanical failures, including but not limited to engine, transmission, suspension, and electrical systems.
• While the repair facility technician demonstrates the diagnosis, clearly document the findings or results of the inspection.
• Provide detailed written reports through One Guard’s online portal, including factual information and photo/video evidence.
• Contact repair facilities to schedule inspections and notify One Guard of the appointment time.
• Depending on the inspection, submit fluid samples to Blackstone Laboratories for further analysis.
• Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change with or without notice.

Requirements

• At least three (3) years of car dealership experience OR experience in an aftermarket repair facility as an Automotive Technician.
• Proficiency in identifying and describing failures in engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components.
• General knowledge of website navigation and ability to compose comprehensive written reports of vehicle inspections.
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive, energetic presence.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have your own vehicle for transportation.
• Must have a hi-def digital camera (modern smartphones are acceptable) to take photos.
• Must have a computer and internet access to upload photos and reports.
• Must have experience identifying and describing automobile failures and documenting them using a secure online portal.

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive warranty claims adjuster and/or service advising experience.
• Self-motivated, high-energy, customer-focused, and detail-oriented.
• In-depth understanding of the automotive industry, including manufacturer acronyms and lingo.
• ASE and/or Factory/trade school certifications.

Work Environment

This job operates inside automotive repair shops that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.

Physical Demands

• Requires standing for extended periods with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping.
• Requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Requires the use of safety equipment, including but not limited to face shields, goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other protective garments.
• Requires frequent driving and visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.

Travel

This position is remote-based but requires traveling to automotive repair facilities to inspect automobiles for mechanical failures.
