Oncology Social Worker

About the Role

As a Social Worker, you will provide essential psychosocial assessment, intervention, and support to individuals and families across various settings. You will address emotional, social, and practical needs, promoting overall well-being. You will conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide direct counseling or crisis intervention. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and external agencies ensures coordinated care and connects clients with vital resources.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates discharge plans and/or care plans for in/outpatients, including developing plans for ongoing treatment through services and agencies.
• Performs psycho/social assessments for continuity of care planning for in/outpatients.
• Provides short-term adjustment counseling to assist with emotional, social, and economic stresses of illness and disability.
• Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team to develop a coordinated care plan for patients.
• Participates in quality assurance and utilization review to enhance patient satisfaction.
• Engages in informal and formal consultations; provides, presents, and participates in support and training; arranges speakers and develops materials and programs.
• Participates in Medical Center committees and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's of Social Work from an accredited college or university.
• Registration with the state of Washington as either a Licensed Social Work Associate (LSWAIC), Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Social Work Associate Advanced (LSWAA), or Social Work Advanced (LISW). May consider an Agency Affiliated Counselor with the expectation of active pursuit of Social Work Licensure.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of individual and family dynamics and the ability to perform psycho/social assessments.
• Understanding of systems and how to work within systems.
• Understanding of the impact and implications of disease and the course of disease.

Pay

$43.01 - $70.97 per hour.
