Oncology Nurse Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate clinical staff including Registered Nurses and support personnel.
• Manage daily patient care assignments, staffing schedules, and resource allocation.
• Ensure adequate inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Collaborate with Practice Leader and Operations Director on hiring, performance evaluations, and staff development.
• Facilitate patient flow and resolve operational issues within the practice.
• Serve as a clinical expert and mentor for staff development and education.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and customer service strategies.
• Participate in shared governance and Magnet designation activities.
• Maintain compliance with Trinity Health nursing standards and professional practice model.
• Communicate effectively across departments and with medical staff and vendors.
• Participating in problem-solving for colleagues and patients.

Qualifications

• Education: Required - Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Preferred - Master’s degree in nursing.
• Licensure/Certification: Required - Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan. Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy certificate; Preferred - OCN. Specialty certification as applicable.
• Experience: Minimum - Three years acute care nursing experience for similar patient populations. Progressive experience in health care including involvement in direct patient care, educating staff, supervising personnel and problem solving of unit or organizational issues; Preferred - Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and deal with stresses associated with a patient care environment such as emergencies, time pressures, varying patient emotions/attitudes/conditions, etc.
