About the role
The Oncology Nurse Navigator functions on a multidisciplinary team, acting as an advocate, educator, and coordinator of care for Oncology patients. Participates in the patient survivorship program based on site requirements. The Navigator participates in reporting on identified measures, refers patients to appropriate supportive services and community resources, and assesses clinical, emotional, spiritual, psychosocial, financial, and other patient needs. Works with a multidisciplinary team to provide improved comprehensive oncology services to patients and assists in training and education of oncology staff. Serves as a clinical resource with expertise in oncology care management, reinforcing education with patients and families, and providing input on educational materials. Participates in cancer screening, prevention, and educational events as appropriate for the site.
Requirements
- 3 years of Nursing experience
- Current state RN license
- Current certification by the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
- Oncology or navigation certification within 3 years of hire
Qualifications (Preferred)
- BSN degree
- 3 years of Oncology Nursing experience
- Oncology or navigation certification
Pay
$34.25 - $51.13/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is a salaried position.
