This position is posted as an Oncology – Infusion/Acute Care Registered Nurse and may be filled at multiple career levels based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and demonstrated skill set. All qualified applicants will be considered for appropriate placement within the Oncology – Infusion/Acute Care Registered Nurse practice setting. Final position level and compensation will be determined at the time of offer based on assessed competencies, experience, and alignment with level requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct bedside care to patients receiving intravenous cancer therapies and supportive treatments in outpatient infusion and acute care settings.
  • Monitor patients in real time during treatment, identify and manage infusion-related complications early, and respond rapidly to high-risk events such as hypersensitivity reactions, extravasation, and other oncologic emergencies.
  • As experience grows, manage increasingly complex therapies and unstable patient presentations while supporting safe treatment delivery across the infusion and acute care continuum.
  • Advanced levels reflect deep technical expertise, independent clinical decision-making, and bedside leadership in high-risk treatment environments.

Nurse Levels

  • Nurse Level 1 (N1) – Supervised Learner: Entry-level nurse developing foundational clinical skills under close supervision.
  • Nurse Level 2 (N2) – Independent Practitioner: Developing nurse who independently manages routine patient care and escalates more complex needs as appropriate.
  • Nurse Level 3 (N3) – Confident Practitioner: Experienced nurse who independently manages typical patient complexity, anticipates needs, and adapts care to clinical variations.
  • Nurse Level 4 (N4) – Leader and Mentor: Advanced clinician who leads complex cases and serves as a clinical resource and mentor to other nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact if switching residency to Utah. Must maintain current Interstate Compact (multi-state) license if residency is not being changed to Utah.
  • Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year oncology or infusion experience preferred.
