About the role

Applinx Web Developer position (estimated duration 10/26/2026 – 10/26/2029, with possible long‑term extension) located in Jackson, MS 39201. The role is 100% onsite, Monday‑Friday 8 am–5 pm (40 hours/week). The incumbent is currently under a contract extension, but the agency will interview additional candidates. The developer will maintain existing Applinx web‑development modernization designs in the JAWS and MAVERICS legacy applications, make limited enhancements as needed, collaborate with department staff to incorporate, test and implement changes, and provide knowledge transfer so staff can support the services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support Applinx web‑development modernization designs implemented in JAWS and MAVERICS legacy applications.
  • Perform limited enhancements to those applications as required.
  • Collaborate with department staff to incorporate, test, and implement changes.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to enable department staff to support the Applinx services independently.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience with Java.
  • Hands‑on experience developing and maintaining Applinx solutions.
  • Experience working with Applinx version 11 or later.
  • Experience working with customers to gather and formulate business requirements.
  • Knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
  • Good working knowledge of modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and integration methods.
  • Programming skill in Java or Microsoft .NET.
  • Strong analytical ability to design well‑performing websites.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Operating Systems: Linux RHEL 8.10.
  • Programming Language/Development Tools: JavaServer Pages (JSP) and related services.
  • Web frameworks & technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.
  • Service‑oriented architecture / web services: SOAP/REST.
  • Applinx 11.1 hardware experience.
  • PC hardware familiarity.
  • Database Systems/Tools: Microsoft SQL Server, Adabas.
  • Framework/SLD/Methodology experience.
  • Proficiency with Jira Software.
  • Agile QA/testing approaches and application QA testing.

Schedule

Shift: 8 am – 5 pm, 40 hours per week. 100% onsite requirement.
