Pay

Starting hourly rate: $16.25 USD per hour.

Schedule

This is an On‑Demand position. Team members create their own schedule by picking up shifts posted in the myTime mobile scheduling app. Shifts are flexible and may include nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times. Employees must pick up at least four hours of work every four weeks and must work at least one shift within five months, or employment will be terminated. Attendance must be reliable and prompt.

About the Role

As a Guest Advocate, you will welcome guests, thank them, and exceed service expectations through guest interaction, loyalty enrollment, and store cleanliness. You will support both in‑store and digital services, helping guests with check‑lanes, guest services, gift registry, order pick‑up, and drive‑up while maintaining high quality.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests within 10 ft, smile, make eye contact, and initiate a warm interaction.
• Assist guests in finding items, resolving issues, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience.
• Thank each guest at the end of the transaction.
• Support team members in other areas while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Adapt to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring experience.
• Follow service standards and demonstrate a guest‑focused culture.
• Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food‑safety standards.
• Minimize guest wait time while maintaining accuracy.
• Promote current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
• Explain and assist with Target Loyalty program enrollment, sign‑up, and sign‑in.
• Guide guests on fulfillment services, including enrollment, activation, and usage.
• Demonstrate use of the Target Wallet and app features.
• Process returns according to register prompts and partner with leaders to resolve issues.
• De‑escalate situations and recover the guest experience in partnership with leaders.
• Provide accurate service to Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area, including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers.
• Stock supplies during store hours while remaining available to guests.
• Follow safety policies, report hazards, and work in a safe manner at all times.
• Support guest services such as order pick‑up, drive‑up orders, and drive‑up returns, complying with federal, state, and local adult‑beverage laws.
• Perform any other duties based on business needs.

Requirements

• Enjoy interacting with and helping guests and team members.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving, physically demanding environment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
• Reliability in attending and completing scheduled shifts.
• Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 10 lb regularly and up to 44 lb occasionally without assistance.
• Capability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., drive‑up, carry‑out areas).
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift.
• Accurate handling of cash register operations and cash transactions.
• Compliance with safety, ethical conduct, and all applicable laws.
