On‑Demand Role

This position is an On‑Demand Team Member role, allowing you to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted in the myTime mobile scheduling app. You must reliably attend shifts you select, engage by working at least one shift every four weeks (minimum four hours), and work at least one shift within five months or employment will be terminated. Attendance and responsiveness to shift offers are critical.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly (friendly smile and eye contact from 10 ft, greet and initiate interaction from 4 ft).
• Help guests find items and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• End every transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy, inspiring experience.
• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience and meets service standards.
• Scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food‑safety standards.
• Work quickly to minimize guest wait time while maintaining accuracy.
• Inform guests of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
• Promote Target Loyalty programs, assist with application, sign‑up, and sign‑in.
• Direct guests to fulfillment services and help them enroll, activate, and use those services.
• Explain the Target Wallet and other features of the Target app.
• Process returns, follow register prompts, and partner with leaders to resolve issues.
• De‑escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience while following policies.
• Provide accurate service to Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area, including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers.
• Stock supplies during store hours while remaining available for guests.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance at all times.
• Work safely, comply with safety policies, report hazards, and correct them when possible.
• Support guest services such as Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up orders, and Drive‑Up returns, complying with federal, state, and local adult‑beverage laws.
• Perform all other duties as needed based on business requirements.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, using positive language and attentive listening.
• Ability to stay focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment while multitasking.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and teammates.
• Strong attention to detail while handling multiple tasks.
• Willingness to educate guests about products and services.
• Proficiency with multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Skill in resolving guest questions quickly on the spot.
• Accurate handling of cash register operations and cash transactions.
• Physical ability to lift/move merchandise up to 10 lb regularly and up to 44 lb occasionally.
• Flexibility to pick up shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
• Active engagement by picking up and working shifts and responding to contact attempts.
• Commitment to work at least one shift within five months or face administrative termination.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive‑Up, carry‑out areas).
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $16.25 USD per hour.

Schedule

This is a flexible, on‑demand schedule. You choose shifts that fit your availability via the myTime app, with the expectation to work at least one shift every four weeks (minimum four hours) and maintain active engagement.
