About the role

Target is looking for On‑Demand Guest Advocates who help families discover the joy of everyday life. This position is flexible: you create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted in the myTime mobile scheduling app. You must attend a Target Welcome orientation and complete a short‑term training program before beginning work.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by greeting guests warmly (10 ft: smile, eye contact; 4 ft: greet and initiate interaction).
• Help guests find items, resolve issues, and ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive, respectful attitude.
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring experience.
• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience by following service standards.
• Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
• Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality and accuracy.
• Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
• Promote Target Loyalty programs, assist with application, sign‑up, and sign‑in as needed.
• Be familiar with all fulfillment services and guide guests to enroll, activate, and use them.
• Explain and demonstrate the Target Wallet and other features within the Target App.
• Process returns according to register prompts, partnering with leaders to resolve issues while following policies.
• Partner with leaders to de‑escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience.
• Provide accurate service to Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area, including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers.
• Stock supplies during store hours while remaining available for guests.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance at all times.
• Work safely, comply with all safety policies, report hazards, and correct them when possible.
• Support guest services such as Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up, and Drive‑Up Returns, adhering to federal, state, and local adult‑beverage laws.
• Perform all other duties as required by business needs.

Requirements

• Enjoy interacting with and helping guests and team members.
• Thrive in a fast‑moving, physically demanding environment; teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem‑solving are essential.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
• Attend and complete required orientation and training.
• Pick up and work shifts regularly (minimum of four hours every four weeks) and respond promptly to scheduling communications.
• Work at least one shift within five months, or employment will be administratively terminated.
• Accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions as needed.
• Lift or move merchandise up to 10 lb frequently and up to 44 lb occasionally without assistance.
• Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions (e.g., Drive‑Up, carry‑out areas).
• Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $15.00 USD per hour.

Schedule

This is an on‑demand position. You create your own schedule by selecting available shifts in the myTime mobile app. Shifts may vary in time of day, day of week, and length. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak periods is required. Minimum engagement is four hours every four weeks, and you must work at least one shift within five months to remain employed.
