Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time interpretation between English and one language (Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, or Korean) during: Live broadcast interview segments (winner interviews, desk hits, short features)
- Media Days (filmed interviews, B-roll capture)
- Rehearsals and match days, accompanying teams/players when needed
- Switch between consecutive and paraphrased simultaneous interpreting to match broadcast pace
- Appear on camera or be mic’d; follow producer cues via IFB/comm
- Use an informal, audience-friendly tone while keeping meaning intact
- Prepare with production by reviewing scripts, names, team rosters, key terminology, and relevant esports vocabulary
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to NDAs
Required Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, or Korean, plus fluent English
- Livetranslating experience (broadcast, live events, sports/esports, press, etc.)
- Comfortable on camera and speaking in front of a live audience
- Strong listening and memory skills; clean, clear delivery
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work with talent, players, and production
- Available for all listed dates in Atlanta
- Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S. for the engagement
Preferred Qualifications
- Esports or sports broadcasting experience
- Familiarity with gaming culture; Marvel Rivals knowledge is a plus
- IFB/clear-com communication experience
- Experience in building quick reference glossaries and phonetic name guides
Compensation And Logistics
- Competitive day rate (based on 10-hour shifts)
- Per diem and approved local ground transportation during event days
- Travel/lodging support for non-local candidates may be available
