About the role
The On-Call Youth Counselor plays a critical role in improving mental healthcare for adolescents. This position requires a high level of empathy, patience, and clinical skills.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for adolescent clients in individual and group settings.
- Ensure client safety and well-being by providing support with daily activities, school responsibilities, and therapeutic programs.
- Encourage appropriate behavior and participation in group activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities and behaviors.
- Participate in shift meetings and treatment team meetings to support quality care and communication.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience with children or adults with serious mental health needs; inpatient experience is preferred.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET); an associate’s degree plus one year of experience; or a bachelor’s degree plus six months of experience.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with adolescents and individuals with serious mental health needs.
- Knowledge of clinical practices and procedures.

Pay
$21.00 - $27.10 USD per hour
Schedule
On-call coverage needed for: Sun-Sat 6am-6:30pm OR Sun-Sat 6pm-6:30am. Scheduling is based on applicant availability and facility needs.
