About the role
We are looking for an On-Call Wardrobe Technician to join our O Wardrobe team. The main objective of this role is to pre-set costume pieces, dress the artists for performances, and perform laundry and cleaning tasks. As an ambassador of the O Wardrobe Team, you will collaborate with artists and other technical teams to ensure a smooth-running show both on-stage and off.

Responsibilities
- Dress artists, clean, launder, repair, and maintain costumes, headpieces, and accessories
- Perform pre-show costume checks, pre-set and running show tracks, nightly show laundry, and closing procedures
- Maintain cue track documentation and participate in cue track rotation and trainings
- Repair and maintain costume pieces using professional tools and machinery
- Attend artist trainings and show staging sessions as needed
- Document maintenance practices and repair notes
- Assist with inventory, ordering, and tracking of department supplies and equipment
- Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, including costume maintenance, show calls, and PR events
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all established safety policies and procedures
- Complete required yearly safety classes
- Help organize and maintain cleanliness of the workspace
- Perform additional job-related duties, such as updating time tracking systems, assisting with PR events, and keeping inventory records current
Requirements
- Prior show dressing, laundry, and wardrobe experience from a large-scale theatrical production
- Working knowledge of costume/shoe repair, painting, makeup, theatrical wigs, and millinery
- Experience with home/commercial sewing machines and specialty machines
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a costume dresser, including costume repairs and maintenance for a large-scale production
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to pass a swim test
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to obtain an OSHA 10 course completion card
- Experience working in a multicultural group environment
- Experience in a similar theatrical setting
- Ability to perform essential job functions, including crouching, kneeling, standing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs unassisted) for extended periods
- Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group
