Responsibilities
- Assists clients with daily living skills, including eating, personal hygiene, grooming, and other care needs.
- Makes sure clients attend and participate in activities and therapeutic programs using positive motivation and support.
- Leads group activities and outings, promoting positive social interaction among clients and serving as a positive role model.
- Maintains accurate documentation of client participation and responses in the medical record and attends treatment team meetings as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET).
- Six (6) months of direct care experience in a mental health setting preferred.
- (A non-professional, consumer-directed internship may be substituted).
- Valid CPR, First Aid, and ProAct certifications within 30 days of employment.
- Valid California Driver’s License and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria preferred.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
