About the role
Provides crisis intervention, information, referrals, and advocacy for sexual assault survivors, supporting them through medical and legal processes.
Responsibilities
- Offers emotional and technical support to survivors and their significant others.
- Advocates within medical and law enforcement institutions.
- Documents all contacts and develops advocacy training materials.
- Responds to crisis situations 12-24 hours daily.
- Acts as liaison with law enforcement.
- Participates in staff meetings and training.
- Serves on task forces and compiles monthly statistics.
- Ensures timely handling of medical paperwork.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; social services experience preferred.
- Knowledge of sexual assault issues.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stress and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Willingness to be on-call, travel, and complete required training.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance are necessary.
