On-Call Lighting Technician - KÀ

About the role

We are seeking a Lighting Technician to support our Lighting team. Key responsibilities include setting up, operating, and maintaining lighting systems and equipment for performances, rehearsals, and special events. Duties also include updating documentation, assisting with inventory, and participating in special projects.

Responsibilities

• Run follow spot/deck cue tracks
• Maintain cue track documentation
• Inspect and maintain lighting equipment
• Support show needs during rehearsals and performances
• Ensure safe setup, use, and maintenance of lighting systems and equipment
• Assist with inventory management
• Update maintenance and inspection records
• Participate in cue track rotation
• Assist with construction and installation of new show elements
• Develop a thorough knowledge of Lighting Department equipment
• Backup console operators and moving light repair technicians
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and participate in safety training
• Support other departments as needed
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• At least two years of previous experience as a professional Lighting Technician or equivalent training
• Basic knowledge of digital test equipment for troubleshooting and repairs
• Understanding of AC/DC electricity, basic electronics, and computer operations relevant to lighting systems
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD (asset)
• Ability to obtain OSHA 10 course completion card
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
