On Call/Flex Laboratory Assistant

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow Quality System documents (Quality Manual, SOPs, Methods, Local Policies) and adhere to ISO/IEC 17025, government regulatory, and company quality standards.
• Assist in the daily assaying of samples and perform testing from a daily work list.
• Set up batches of samples, weigh samples, and identify the need for rechecks.
• Prepare solutions used in daily testing of designated samples.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, logging test data and results in logbooks, record books, BookMaster, and entering data into eLIMS.
• Keep the laboratory safe and clean; clean work areas and glassware, dispose of hazardous waste per procedures, and assist others in maintaining a safe environment.
• Identify method, matrix, or analytical difficulties, report them with proposed solutions to the supervisor.
• Protect proprietary methodologies; disclose only as approved in writing by the Laboratory Manager or designate.
• Remain ready to respond to client, staff, and co‑worker queries and needs.
• Stay current on technical, industry, and business advancements as directed by the Department Leader or supervisor.
• Recommend more accurate or efficient laboratory equipment or procedures.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships and communicate effectively both orally and in writing across departments.
• Promote the company’s image through ethical business practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic understanding of ISO 17025 guidelines.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Responsive, independent problem‑solver with an action‑oriented mindset.

Schedule

Flexible hours: 9 am – 1 pm, Sunday through Thursday (On‑Call/Flex Laboratory Assistant).
