About the role
The Cook-On Call position at Hillside Heights Rehabilitation Center is an opportunity to join a team dedicated to providing high-quality care and meals to residents. This role requires a strong background in restaurant cooking and a commitment to meeting the dietary needs of residents.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals according to resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager.
- Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and floors, dishes, and utensils.
- Check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
- Work in a non-temperature regulated environment (near ovens, stoves, and walk-in refrigerators/freezers).
- Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meal and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, reporting any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Food Handler's permit / ServSafe certification as per State requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to relate positively and favorably to residents, families, and colleagues.

$21.27/HR+ (DOE)
Schedule
ONC - PRN (Hours/shifts will vary, weekends/holiday availability, days, and evening shifts)
