On Call Bartender

About the role

The Bartender at Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara is responsible for providing beverage service to Owners, guests, and servers. Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a complete working knowledge of the menu items and their ingredients.
• Greeting Owners and guests promptly, courteously, and with good posture.
• Taking and confirming orders, noting special needs or requests from servers, and checking completed orders with guests.
• Supporting Food and Beverage management with planning of beverage menus and assisting in developing new cocktail recipes.
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages according to orders.
• Handling all monies and keeping accurate bank float from the Residence Club.
• Completing bar inventory with the Food and Beverage Manager, Purchasing Manager, and Assistant Director of Finance.
• Cutting fruit and preparing beverage garnishments daily.
• Maintaining the bar area neat and tidy, clearing dishes and glassware, and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Practicing responsible alcohol service and addressing any disruptive or undesirable guests.
• Responding to emergencies or safety situations within the Residence Club.

Requirements

• Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
• One to two years of bartending and/or related food and beverage serving experience.
• Excellent knowledge of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks.
• CPR certification.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Responsible Beverage Service certification and San Diego County Food Handlers (not required upon hire).

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, days, weekends, and holidays.

Skills

• Knowledge of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Experience in food and beverage service.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and handle multiple orders efficiently.
