Overview

The Banquet Server serves meals to patrons in food and beverage establishments. They also help set up, replenish items, and tear down events.

Qualifications

  • Able to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Earn $12.14/hr plus gratuities.

Job Duties

  • Set up and Break down of Banquet Rooms to prepare for functions and daily breakfast service.
  • Opening and Closing duties of breakfast room as assigned by supervisor.
  • Serves patrons from chafing dish at table.
  • Serves patrons pre-plated meals at table.
  • May act as a bartender.
  • Observes guests to respond to any additional requests.
  • Brews coffee and performs other services as determined by supervisor.
  • Clears and resets tables as necessary.
  • May operate beverage machinery.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

  • No Computer skills needed.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Able to obtain a TIPs or local Responsible alcohol awareness certificate
