On Call Banquet Server

About the role

An essential member of the Food & Beverage team at Keswick Hall, a recently renovated 80-room luxury boutique hotel set on 600 acres at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The hotel features the prestigious Keswick Golf Club, Marigold Restaurant by Jean-Georges, a luxury spa, and a sports and aquatics center.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate supplies.
• Organize tables, action stations, buffets, and carts for service.
• Communicate any additional meal requirements or special requests to the kitchen.
• Ensure courses are properly cleared and crumbed in a timely fashion.
• Manage the presentation of tableware so that it is accessible for guests.
• Recognize and address potentially intoxicated, disruptive, or undesirable guests.
• Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitization of tables, stations, and service areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent).
• 0-2 years of food & beverage serving experience and/or high-volume banquet serving experience (a combination of experience and/or education will be considered).
• Certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
• Strong wine, cocktail, and menu knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of food & beverage operations.
• Ability to multi-task and observe the entire dining room.
• Strong time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to be descriptive and engaging in presentation.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to go up and down staircases, stoop, and bend.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
