On Air Personality

About the role

Univision Radio is seeking a full-time On-Air Personality that is energetic, interactive, and social media savvy to bring that passion to one of Houston’s most popular radio stations QUE BUENA 102.9. The successful candidate will perform On-Air Duties as assigned, and in the community as assigned by the Content Director for our Regional Mexican Station.

Responsibilities

• Creating, writing, and delivering creative on-air elements, including attention‑grabbing topics/issues for the show.
• Following the designated show format.
• Producing content for Univision websites and social‑media pages and promoting company accounts.
• Maintaining FCC compliance, including awareness of prohibited language on‑air.
• Researching information as requested for the show.
• Creating bits and/or stunts for use during the show, as appropriate.
• Airing music as scheduled and as provided by the Content Director.
• Airing all liners, promos and commercials as logged.
• Operating the system board efficiently, making necessary stop breaks and timely announcements, including sponsorships and name mentions.
• Creative production and editing of commercials (voiceovers) for clients and station as directed by the Production Manager.
• Creating and writing copy as assigned.
• Working with the traffic department to ensure commercial copy is correct and airing dates/times match sales instructions.
• Meeting with clients when necessary to prepare commercials on and off site.
• Assisting in the development and execution of station and on‑air promotions.
• Following contest and station rules regarding station contests.
• Participating in remotes and van hits as assigned by the Content Director/Promotions Supervisor.
• Making live appearances/broadcasts on location as assigned by the Content Director/Promotions Supervisor.
• Participating and getting involved within the community.
• Driving to events/remotes and other special occasions as needed.
• Producing timely, complete, and accurate reports as requested, with special attention to deadlines.
• Maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
• Performing other duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements

• Passion for music is a must.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Excellent ability to speak, read, and write Spanish and English.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work with all levels of management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Outlook software packages.
• Knowledge of programming and production software (e.g., Zetta, Audition, Console Production, Collateral Hardware, Music Master).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, dedicated, and self‑motivated.
• Good problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license, adequate transportation for driving, and a good driving record.
• Willingness to work from the office in Houston, TX.
• Availability to travel out of city, state, and country.
