Responsibilities

  • Define and decompose systems software requirements for airplane network systems
  • Perform validation, verification, development assurance, safety analysis, and systems integration
  • Collaborate with software developers and test engineers to define and validate highly reliable system functionality
  • Plan, execute, and troubleshoot complex software systems integration to validate interface definitions and system requirements of airplane network systems
  • Conduct risk management and trade study analyses
  • Provide analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot system design and implementation issues
  • Compare actual results to baseline plans to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned
  • Work with stakeholders to understand, troubleshoot, and identify fixes for flight test and in-service issues

Requirements

  • Experience with airplane software development and certification under RTCA DO-178C
  • Experience with DOORS or a similar requirements development and management tool

Qualifications

  • Experience with ARP4754A airplane systems development and certification
  • Experience with airplane networks and communication systems
  • Experience with flight deck operations and electronic flight bags (EFBs)
  • Experience with Jira or other similar problem reporting/tracking tools
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols, routing table definitions, and network architecture definitions
  • Experience with test procedures, lab testing, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Development Assurance, Certification, and Safety Analysis
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to address urgent issues and contribute to solutions
  • Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of related work experience, or advanced degree with 7+ years of related work experience
  • Accredited degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, preferably from an ABET-accredited program

  • Full-time role staffed both remotely and in-office (hybrid)
  • Location: Seattle, WA

Pay

The applicable base salary range for this role is $160,000 – $200,000. Base pay will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for performance-based incentives.
