Oliver Wyman- Technology/Software & Private Capital - Principal

About the role

Oliver Wyman’s Private Capital team in North America is seeking a Principal to support its rapid growth. The team works with private equity investors throughout the deal transaction lifecycle: from opportunity identification through due diligence and post-transaction value realization.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process within those relationships
• Team with Partners and share responsibility for the success of a specific engagement(s)
• Lead and manage complex programs to ensure on-time delivery that meets agreed-upon goals, leveraging Oliver Wyman best practices, expertise, and technical competence
• Guide and influence clients in an informed way across all situations, including execution of the commercial process, to become trusted advisors
• Engage fully in building business by identifying new and expanded opportunities
• Create intellectual capital through thought leadership and maintain knowledge of a broad range of adjacent topics
• Develop others and build a followership as part of asset building for the firm
• Lead firm-building activities, serve as a role model for firm values, and maintain a strong personal brand within and outside the firm

Desired Skills and Experience

• Principals serve as the primary contact point for senior client executives and Oliver Wyman consultants staffed on client engagements
• 7+ years of experience in strategy consulting and/or CMT/TMT industry experience plus Private Capital experience
• Commercial due diligence expertise
• Strong background in conceptual problem solving and analytical skills
• Track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced and demanding environments
• Outstanding communication skills; confidence in presenting to senior executives
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time

Oliver Wyman’s Consumer, Telco & Technology (CTT) and Private Capital (PC) teams collaborate with clients to create sustainable shareholder value through anticipating value migration shifts, developing innovative business models and product/solution offerings, and improving operational excellence. The CTT team serves enterprise computing, software, communications & business equipment, consumer electronics, semiconductor, and IT services industries, with a focus on helping clients compete smartly, serve customers better and more profitably, operate faster and at lower cost, invest more rationally, and innovate with purpose.
