About the role

The Department of Justice, Office of Human Resources is seeking a highly motivated Analyst II to join the Operations Team. This role involves complex and varied analytical duties, including managing Public Records Act requests, serving as the custodian of records for subpoena requests, and overseeing OHR communications and administrative updates.

Responsibilities

  • Independently complete Public Records Act (PRA) requests.
  • Act as OHR’s custodian of records for subpoena requests.
  • Review and monitor OHR communications released to the department and updates to the Department of Justice Administrative Manual (DOJAM).
  • Provide support for OHR purchases, invoices, and contracts.
  • Lead OHR projects and work groups, evaluating processes for efficiency and providing recommendations.
  • Manage OHR’s budget and serve as an authorized purchaser with a CAL-Card, ensuring compliance with spending restrictions, purchasing logging procedures, and usage policies.
  • Ensure Operations activities comply with departmental policy, fiscal soundness, the State's purchasing guidelines, and the Prompt Payment Act.

Working Conditions

This position is eligible for telework and is currently remote-centered, but requires in-person attendance on a recurring basis. The selected candidate will report to Department of Justice headquarters in Sacramento for job functions, in-person meetings, and trainings. Travel expenses for required office visits are the responsibility of the employee. Telework schedules are subject to change.

Pay

  • Analyst II: $6,031.00 - $7,547.00 per month (New-to-State employees will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or alternate range).
  • Analyst I (considered for hire):
    • Range A: $3,861.00 - $4,839.00
    • Range B: $4,181.00 - $5,233.00
    • Range C: $5,014.00 - $6,276.00

Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary wage reductions in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) accruals. The impact varies by bargaining unit.

  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Work Shift: Monday - Friday, Day.
