About the role
The Offset Printing Press Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining an Offset Printing Press to efficiently manufacture folding cartons.
Responsibilities
- Machine setup, adjustments, and make-readies
- Troubleshooting of machine and quality issues
- Assist with maintenance and machine setups
- Complete required product and process audits
- Exchange shift information with prior/following shifts
- Adhere to quality specifications
- Identify product/process enhancements to improve efficiencies, reduce downtime, and spoilage
- Meet production schedule output and timeframes
- Lead work crew to meet production goals
- Attend team meetings
- Differentiate colors accurately
- Train new team members
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Enforce compliance with company policies (GMP/AIB/Safety)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Prior printing experience as an Operator I or Operator II with related duties
- In-depth understanding of printing concepts
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- General math skills
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and quality issues
- Post-secondary education in printing technologies (a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Ability to stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Visual color discrimination (ability to match or detect color differences, including shades)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
Schedule
- Shifts: Nights (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) or Days (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Mill Shift
- Hours: Alternating weeks of 36 and 48 hours
- Night shift differential: $2 per hour
Pay
Up to $35+ per hour, dependent on experience.
