Duties/Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain automated perfect binder, flatbed cutter, case making and casing-in equipment to production standards and quality
- Analyze and interpret job jackets and print-on-demand sheets to thoroughly understand the needs of the customer; communicating those instructions to co-workers
- Constantly monitor quality of finished product to ensure customer’s satisfaction
- Maintain accurate record keeping on TSP timesheets and logbooks; understand and utilize corresponding digital software systems
- Accurately communicate to the next shift and other co-workers the status of jobs being processed
- Operate hand jack to move work throughout department and deliver all completed work to the shipping area
- Absorb and perform job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees
- Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPE's, Ergonomics, etc.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of computer-controlled machinery in a production environment
- Good organizational, mechanical and time management skills
- Excellent math skills (ability to read a ruler and/or caliper, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using numbers, common fractions and decimals)
- Communications and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented within a team environment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as required
Desired Skills and Abilities
- Prior experience on bindery and/or finishing equipment preferred
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals
- Safety toe shoes
- Hearing protection
- Ability to lift 40lbs. on a regular basis
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Overtime as needed
