Minimum Requirements

  • Ninety (90) college hours required.
  • Must obtain Texas Juvenile Supervision Officer certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must have First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Restraint with annual renewal of certification.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and proof of automobile liability insurance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Physical Demands And Work Environment & Other Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, bend, stoop and lift.
  • Exposure to communicable and contagious diseases; potential for physical and mechanical restraint situations involving juveniles who are violent and self-destructive.

  • PREA 4 Have you ever been civilly or administratively adjudicated, disciplined or had any government issued license revoked or suspended for having engaged in conduct defined as sexual harassment? Yes No
  • Are you currently certified or was previously certified as a JPO, JSO or CAO? If yes, please provide in which county and last date of certification.
