About the Location
California State Prison, Los Angeles County (LAC) is located in Lancaster, CA, 45 miles north of Los Angeles.
About the Role
This is an advanced journey-level position performing a variety of the most difficult duties. Employees at this level are expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and originality in assigned tasks. The role involves detailed and sensitive public contact and/or independent origination of correspondence, requiring knowledge and application of detailed regulations, policies, and procedures. Positions may include responsibilities such as serving as secretaries to major division chiefs or managing one-person field office assignments with a wide variety of tasks.
Good judgment and effective communication are of primary importance, as work at this level is rarely reviewed. Employees may also have responsibility for providing functional guidance, training, and assisting less experienced staff.
Note: A Training and Development (T&D) assignment will not be considered at this time.
Pay
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) reduces the base salary of full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 4 (and related Excluded, Exempt, and Statutory Exempt employees) by 3%. In exchange, employees receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis, while permanent intermittent employees are subject to the reduction based on hours worked in the pay period.
