Office Operations Assistant

About the role

Under general supervision, performs full-performance level clerical work. Direct inmate contact. Answers phones and takes messages; performs clerical work for the full function of a department or unit; responsible for maintaining a daily log; creates various forms and documents; taking and delivering messages; maintains accurate records; contacts designated personnel regarding inmates; requisitions and orders supplies. Performs related work as required. Assist in security post as needed.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.

Pay

• Base minimum special hiring rate: $32,240.00 per year.
• Under SPB 3088 (effective 10/7/23), a $5,000 supplement is added to the minimum starting rate for employees at Critical Vacancy Pay Facilities: Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail, Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail, Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility, Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center), Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center, Vicki Douglas Juvenile Center, Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, Eastern Regional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center).
• Annual base building pay differential of $250 each fiscal year after completing one year of service.
• If an employee hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility leaves the facility, the $5,000 supplement is removed unless transferring to another Critical Vacancy Pay Facility.
