About the Role
Under general supervision, performs full performance level work in multiple-step clerical tasks calling for interpretation and application of office procedure, rules, and regulations. This position schedules inmate visits and verifies the identity of all facility visitors (attorneys, probation/parole, volunteers).
Responsibilities
- Process inmate and facility mail
- Answer phones and direct calls
- Sort and file documents
- Perform routine data entry
- Assist administrative staff with typing memos, reports, and notices
- Maintain hard copies of inmate files
- Utilize the OIS System to input inmate file information
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent
Pay
In accordance with SPB 3088 (effective 10/7/23), an additional $5,000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility. Employees in this classification shall also receive an annual base building pay differential of $250 after completing one year of service.
If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves the facility, the additional $5,000 pay differential will be removed from their salary unless transferring to another CVPF.

- Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail
- Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail
- Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility
- Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center)
- Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility
- Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center
- Vicki Douglas Juvenile Center
- Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility
- Eastern Regional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center)
