About the Role
This internship offers hands-on experience in public sector operations, data analysis, and general administrative workflow within the Office of City Auditor.

Work Environment
This internship may include a combination of in-office work, field visits to city departments, and remote work. The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor applicants for work visas. This role is an unpaid fellowship.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to managing and updating the audit manual, and support internal and external training development.
- Support operations of the quality assurance program.
- Provide data management to track and analyze information using Excel, Smartsheet, PowerApps, SharePoint, or other tools to help streamline processes and support operational tasks as assigned.
- Provide administrative support such as organizing files, reviewing contracts and draft audit reports, tracking project deadlines, and maintaining office process documentation.
- Help complete position classification rewrites and support the development of classification performance metrics.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in a Bachelor's or Graduate level degree program in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Selection Process
The selection process may consist of a rating of relevant education and experience and/or an oral examination (100%). Your application should show all relevant education and experience you possess, as this information will determine which candidates proceed in the selection process. Only those candidates who attain a passing score (70%) on each step will be placed on the eligible list. The eligible list will expire one month after it has been established.
Background Check
The City has determined that a criminal background check and/or qualifications check may be necessary for this position. Applicants may be required to sign an informed consent form allowing the City to obtain their criminal history and/or verify their qualifications. Applicants who do not sign the informed consent form will not be further considered for the position.
