About the Role
As the Office Managing Attorney, you will lead your own office within a larger firm, overseeing all aspects of the legal practice related to real estate transactions. This includes managing a team, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, providing strategic guidance to clients, engaging in business development, resolving disputes, and staying current with industry developments. You will also handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, staffing, and overall office management to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Responsibilities
- Business Development: Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and expand the client base. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the real estate industry.
- Client Management: Provide excellent client service, understanding and addressing client objectives. Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee the financial aspects of the legal practice, including budgeting, billing, and financial planning. Maximize profitability and ensure financial sustainability.
- Staff Management: Lead and manage a small staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team is aligned with business goals.
- Legal Expertise: Apply in-depth legal knowledge to handle complex real estate transactions. Ensure legal compliance and excellence in all aspects of real estate law.
- Marketing and Branding: Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of the legal practice. Establish a strong brand presence in the local market.
- Networking: Engage in networking activities to build connections within the legal community, real estate industry, and local business community. Attend industry events and actively participate in relevant professional associations.
- Innovation and Adaptation: Introduce innovative approaches, services, or technologies to stay competitive in the market. Adapt to changing legal landscapes and client needs.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage legal and business risks associated with real estate transactions and the operation of the legal practice. Implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Continuous Learning: Commit to ongoing professional development, staying informed about developments in real estate law, business trends, and legal practice management.
- Ethical Practice: Uphold and reinforce high ethical standards in legal practice and business operations. Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and legal professional conduct.
- Transactional Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the legal aspects of real estate transactions, including contracts, financing, and closings.
- Title Law Proficiency: Exhibit expertise in title examination, title insurance, and resolving title issues.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage time to handle various tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Prioritize activities to achieve business objectives.
- Client-Centric Approach: Maintain a strong client-centric approach, ensuring that all services provided align with client needs and expectations. Solicit and respond to client feedback to continually improve service delivery.
- General Responsibilities: Participate in maintaining a tidy and organized office environment. Provide general hospitality (e.g., greeting clients, preparing closing rooms). Assist with general administrative tasks as needed to support team operations. Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately. Perform other duties as assigned by management to meet organizational needs.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- At least three years of experience practicing real estate law.
