About the role
Nurse (LPN) provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care and services to persons with disabilities in residential homes and/or vocational centers at a single business location. Relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment to accomplish tasks in combination with clinical supervision from the registered nurse and direction from the Registered Nurse and/or Administrator.
Responsibilities
- Assists RN and professional staff in delivering quality nursing services to persons supported
- Administers and oversees specified medication processes and procedures
- Removes expired medications from circulation and access
- Takes historical information and records persons' supported vital signs
- Observes person's supported mannerisms and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment as needed
- Advocates for individuals with IDD
- Participates as an intricate part of the interdisciplinary team for the people we support
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program
- Valid state Licensed Practical Nurse certification
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Ability to lift between 30 and 50 pounds and provide CPR after certification
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
Pre-employment screening
- Complete criminal background
- Name checked in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
- Drug testing
- Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements
- Proof of employment history or references (if required)
- Positions that require driving: Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals
Physical requirements
- Regular required to lift 20 lbs
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
- Must be able to pull minimum of 25 lbs
- Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Required to regularly stand and walk
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
- Must be able to talk and hear
Pay
$28/hr

M-F 8:30am-5:00pm
